About This Issue
Fixed Forms (Loosely) is a collection of work in conversation with structure, tradition, and the rules we inherit before deciding what to do with them. These pieces take shape through invented forms, borrowed patterns, and other constraints, but none of them are especially interested in obedience for its own sake.
Form can be a container, a challenge, a game, or a pressure point. Sometimes the rules hold a piece together. Sometimes they bend. Sometimes they break exactly where the poem needs them to.This issue gathers writers who treat form as something alive rather than fixed in place, something to work within, against, around, or through. The result is a collection shaped by repetition, variation, pattern, interruption, and surprise. Together, these pieces ask what structure can make possible when we stop treating it as a cage and start treating it as a conversation.

About Not Quite Right
Not Quite Right is a literary magazine dedicated to work that resists neat categorization—writing that exists in the in-between, the unresolved, the becoming. We’re especially interested in voices exploring identity, queerness, and the complexity of lived experience.
