We are thrilled to officially announce the contributors for the first issue of Not Quite Right Literary Magazine.
Issue 1, titled (unlabeled), will be released in June 2026. This issue gathers work that explores identity, visibility, fluidity, self-recognition, and the complicated beauty of existing just outside the lines. These pieces resist easy categorization. They move through queerness, embodiment, grief, desire, memory, naming, masking, unmasking, and the quiet, necessary work of becoming more fully ourselves.
For our first issue, we wanted to create a space that felt personal, intentional, and alive. Not polished into sameness. Not flattened into a single theme or answer. (unlabeled) is about the parts of us that refuse to be reduced, the identities that shift or expand, the truths we hold privately before we can say them out loud, and the strange relief of realizing we do not have to fit perfectly in order to belong.
We are honored to feature work from the following contributors:
Autumn Ray
Chloe La Vada
Ella B. Winters
John Grey
Keizer Rae
Leaves Left
Magdolna Koren
Oliver Rose
Pete Strong
Prudence Brooks
@TheQuarterPastThree
Samantha Lucia
Sandra Beth Levy
Sarah Elizabeth Schantz
Toni Young
Together, their work helps shape an issue that is tender, strange, defiant, vulnerable, haunted, funny, sharp, and deeply human. We are so grateful to each contributor for trusting us with their work and for helping bring this first issue into being.
More details, previews, and contributor features will be shared soon.
